Potem ko so lani z brezveznimi zakoni onemogočili in prenehali izdelovati samuraja je mali pizdun ponovno pokazal svojo trdoživost in voljo do življenja. Tokrat verjetno zadnjič.........RIP
Ameriške sankcije je preživel, okoljevarstvenih pa, kot kaže ne bo........bomo videli, mali pizdun je žilav in neuničljiv. Tokrat mu je na pomoč prišla kar vojska.

Maruti Suzuki Delivers 718 Units Of Gypsy To Indian Army In June 2020

The Maruti Suzuki Gypsy was discontinued last year since it did not meet the latest safety as well as emission norms, however, the car continues to be Indian Army’s favourite choice of vehicle

Maruti Suzuki first launched the Gypsy in the Indian market in December 1985, and the car went on to become a popular choice for the law enforcement in the country, thanks to its performance, reliability, and the go-anywhere capability. However, Maruti Suzuki ended up discontinuing the Gypsy from the country last year since sales were below par, and the car did not comply with the latest emission and safety norms.

However, the Indian Army’s love for Gypsy doesn’t seem to depart. Even after the car’s discontinuation, the Indian Army continues to place orders for the Gypsy when required, and a waiver from the Ministry of Defence makes Maruti Suzuki fulfil the Indian Army’s order for the Gypsys.

Maruti Suzuki delivered 718 units of the Gypsy to the Indian Army in June 2020, over a year after the car was taken off the shelves in the country. Powering the Gypsy is a BS4-compliant 1.3-litre petrol engine that puts out 80 hp of max power and 103 Nm of peak torque. The car comes with a four-wheel-drive setup as standard, and also gets a low-range gearbox.

It should be noted that the additional units are not available to be purchased by civilians. However, Maruti Suzuki has something else planned for people who are looking for an affordable rugged offroader, i.e. the Jimny. It should be known that the Gypsy sold in the Indian market was actually the second-gen version of the Suzuki Jimny retailed elsewhere. Now, the latter has entered the fourth-gen avatar.

Maruti revealed the said SUV at the 2020 Auto Expo in order to gauge public response, and the said car is expected to be launched in the country by the end of this year or early 2021, and could be re-branded as ‘Gypsy’ for the Indian market.


The SUV will likely be offered with the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that other Maruti uses for the Vitara Brezza and the Ciaz. The said engine puts out 105 PS power and 138 Nm torque. Additionally, the Jimny will also get a part-time four-wheel drive setup.

Ne bi rad odpiral nove teme, mi bi lahko malo kdo razložil stvari o Jimny-u, govorim o letnikih 1998–2018. Kaj se je spremenilo čez leta?
Gledam malo za potencialni nakup pa bi rad majhen namig od lastnikov in poznavalcev, ki stvar mnogo bol poznate. Kolikor vem imajo starejsi Jimnyji sredinski differencial in imaš dejansko ročko v kabini za preklapljanje med 2H 4H in 4L, poznejši so pa imeli gumbe na armaturi. Ampak se mi zdi ta starejsi nacin nekot bolj 'siguren', nočem se ravno zajebavati ko bo zunaj mrzlo, sneg, avto pa nebo šel v 4H zaradi kakšne vlage kje ki zmrzne ali kakor koli, to drzi?
Kolikor vem imajo starejsi Jimny 1.3 motor G13BB poznejši pa M13A z variabilnim krmiljenjem ventilov.
Koliko gledam so tudi nekakšni swapi lahko izvedljivi, in človek skoraj nebi vedel da gre za drugi motor. Torej če imas Non VVT motor daš lahko notri non VVT motor od balenota, vitare, itd. Tisti drugi z VVT (novejsi motor z ketno in plastiko na pokrovu motorja?) pa z kakšnim ignisom ipd.

Malo razmišljam o nakupu pa me pač zanima, trenutno imam Getza in Nivo, ampak bi raje nekako skombiniral in imel 1 avto za v sluzbo (nikoli avtoceste) in po kakih hribih, v gobe, po snegu.

Ne samurai ne jimny nikoli niso imeli sredinskega diferenciala. Za klene terence je to samo dodatna teža in strošek, itak ga moraš zaklepat na terenu, če ga imaš. Sicer ima tudi nekaj dobrih strani ampak za sam teren, nepotrebno.
Za motorje imaš prav, pozabil si še DDiS 1.5 ki so v španskih jimnyih.
Razlika med starejšimi in novejšimi (stari model) je uglavnem kozmetične narave, vklop 4x4 in reduktorja je pri starejših z ročko, pri novejših pa na gumbe. Pri novem so vrnili na staro dobro ročico.
Tako kot za samurai je tudi za jimny na voljo kar nekaj motorjev iz osebnih suzukijev za katere lahko le dober poznavalec ugotovi da je drug motor notri. Top izbira je recimo M18A.

Iz Japonske prihaja zelo dobra novica za vse ljubitelje in prijatelje malega Suzukijevega terenskega vozila, ker so Japonci v teh dneh sporočili, da je nova, gospodarsko orientirana verzija modela jimny že na voljo kupcem v nekaterih evropskih državah.

Vrnil se je............kot vedno.....če ga niso amerikanci uspeli uničiti z izmišljenemi testi ga tudi kvaziekologi ne bodo mogli.
Žal pa so se uresničile moje napovedi, da bo serija zelo omejena in da bo posledično ostala izjemno visoka cena.

Suzuki Jimny hybrid-electric variant to launch in 2024 – Report

The gasoline-powered Mk4 Suzuki Jimny was re-homologated and moved to a commercial vehicle classification in Europe last year as the passenger model pushed Suzuki’s average CO2 emissions beyond the 95 g/km (for passenger vehicles) limit in the region. However, the company is working towards relaunching the passenger variant, this time with a hybrid powertrain, as per a report from Die Motorprofis.

The Suzuki Jimny enjoys a cult status in the automotive industry, with more than 2.85 million units sold worldwide over the last 51 years. It offers ruggedness and off-road capability in ultra-compact dimensions and at a very affordable price. Given Jimny’s brand strength and desirability, it had to make its European return at some point, but the wait prolongs until 2024 when it gets comprehensively revised, as per the Austrian report. Expect the relaunched Jimny to be a thorough revision, with a fresh design and new equipment, in addition to the hybrid powertrain.

Suzuki Jimny Hybrid specifications

The report says that the Suzuki Jimny will feature a full-hybrid powertrain developed in-house and based on a 1.5-litre engine. Suzuki’s cooperation with Toyota allows the use of the Toyota Hybrid System (THS). However, the report could be referring to a hybrid system that Suzuki is developing under “electrification technologies” announced in its mid-term plan from February 2021. This system would allow driving the Jimny over short distances in electric mode.

Suzuki has the 1.5-litre petrol engine deployed in the Jimny. The K15B naturally aspirated four-cylinder unit comes with 12-volt mild-hybrid technology in Suzuki models sold outside Europe.

Suzuki will also expand the styles in the Jimny range when it inducts the ‘long body’ version next year. This would make the Jimny suitable in markets where rear seat occupancy is higher and increase the commercial appeal with an expanded cargo section. It remains to be seen if the lengthened Jimny would come to Europe.

Suzuki Jimny EV imagined by an automotive designer

The GMC Hummer EVs clearly signal the switch to pure electric powertrains even for the toughest of off-roaders, and the pint-sized Suzuki Jimny would be no exception in the future. The image seen above is a speculative rendering of a Suzuki Jimny Electric, a no-frills all-electric off-roader we might see in the showrooms as the next-gen model during the EV-only era, designed by the talented automotive designer Aryan Hosseinalipour.

We got Aryan to take us through his new concept, and here’s what he told us. Note that the Jimny Electric on this page is not an official/company project, and is the work of an auto enthusiast:
Concept

I remember reading when growing up that the Jimny was one of the first cars in that size class to conquer altitude. It was always the car which I really liked. A few years ago, when they finally released the new Jimny, I had an idea of an electric version of the compact SUV.

An electric powertrain for an off-road-oriented SUV would be exciting because torque is essential for them. Electric powertrains deliver torque in abundance, right from the word go. So, I thought, why not design a neo-retro Jimny with an electric heart.

I first considered how the switch to a pure electric powertrain would affect the whole vehicle. The original Jimny has a ladder frame chassis, and most of the new-age electric cars coming out these days have a skateboard chassis.


Design Overview

I first made the chassis and then started designing the body. The Suzuki Jimny has excellent approach and departure angles, thanks to visibly small overhangs. Many other characteristics are similar design-wise, including the boxy look. I kept the windows large and dipped the shoulder line for occupants to get a better view outside. I gave it the panoramic sunroof, considering urban customers demand such features even in utilitarian SUVs.

At the front, you will see many neatly designed LED modules that provide bright illumination efficiently. There is no need for an air vent for cooling, and so I’ve used a fancy glass panel designed to replicate the look of the signature five-slot grille. I left a small gap on the sides for cooling. That makes the front-end appealing compared to a typical EV with a body-coloured nose cone.

For the rims, I went for a bit futuristic design for the next-gen Suzuki Jimny. As for the pillars, I tried to put them behind glass panels to generate a distinctive look. As a result, it looks like there is a seamless glass panel going around the SUV. At the rear end, I kept a spare wheel as the Suzuki Jimny has always had the spare wheel there. The tail lamps are all-LED units and much slimmer.

Specifications

I see this Suzuki Jimny Electric featuring a quad-motor eAWD drivetrain layout, with each wheel spun by a dedicated motor. Practically, though, two electric motors, one on each axle, sounds perfect. These two motors could generate around 140 kW or 190 PS of power and approximately 300 Nm of torque. That’s double the power and more than double the torque of the Mk4 Suzuki Jimny’s K15B internal combustion engine.

The battery pack is placed on the floor of the cabin to lower the centre of gravity. So, one can expect better driving dynamics despite the familiar boxy body.

Končan je Wild Boar Valley Challenge 2021, 6 dnevno tekmovanje, ki po tehnični zahtevnosti spada med najtežje v Evropi.....
Ni bilo veliko tekmovalcev, korona pa to, a vendarle..........brez suzukija ni reprezentance....

Kleni terenec brez konkurence

Suzuki Jimny je avtomobil, ki ne obljublja nikakršnih kompromisov. Je terenec, ampak ne tisti s predpono mestni, temveč tisti pravi, kleni, pa čeprav tehta komaj dobro tono in v dolžino meri zgolj 3,5 metra.

Suzuki Jimny je tako rekoč legenda, avtomobilska seveda. Je avtomobil, ki praktično nima konkurence in mu ni podobnega, na terenu se Jimny namreč lahko kosa z največjimi, recimo z ikoničnim razredom G, kateremu je nesporno v zadnji generaciji tudi izredno podoben. Z ravnimi, odsekanimi površinami, z izrazitimi obrobami blatnikov in s pokončnim vetrobranskim steklom tako nesporno spominja nanj. Japonci so z novo generacijo resnično ustvarili všečno obliko, ki bo očitno že tako legendarnega Jimnyja naredila še bolj legendarnega, le z bolj modernim pridihom. Pa še tako odbito in pozornost vzbujajočo barvo so mu namenili, ki mu noro dobro pristoji v kombinaciji s črno streho in črnimi terenskimi zaščitnimi plastikami. Še nedolgo nazaj je naokoli krožil vic, zakaj Jimny nima radia. Odgovor na to je, ker tja, kamor Jimny pride, beri spleza, ni signala in radio ni potreben.
